Before Your Visit
How to Prepare for Your
Aerolase Treatment
At Mi Pollera Spa, we want every session to deliver the best possible results. Follow these steps to arrive ready.
Avoid Sun Exposure
Stay out of direct sunlight and avoid tanning beds for at least 2 weeks before your treatment. Come in with your natural skin tone for the safest, most effective results.
Skip Retinoids & Actives
Discontinue retinol, retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and any exfoliating acids 5–7 days prior. These can increase skin sensitivity and affect how your skin responds to the laser.
Shave if Needed
For hair removal treatments, shave the area 1–2 days before your appointment — please leave the skin with some hair for the laser to target. Do not wax, thread, or use depilatory creams — the hair root must be intact.
Arrive with Clean Skin
Come to your appointment with a clean face — free of makeup, SPF, oils, and lotions. We will prep your skin before the treatment begins.
Self-tanners are a contraindication and must not be on the skin. The laser picks up artificial pigment and can cause uneven treatment results, temporary darkening or lightening of the skin, irritation, and reduced effectiveness. Discontinue self-tanners 1–2 weeks before treatment and allow the product to fade completely. Always inform your provider if you have recently used a self-tanner.
Stay Hydrated
Well-hydrated skin responds better to laser energy. Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session and avoid alcohol 24 hours before.
Share Your Skin History
Please inform us of any changes in your skin history, recent treatments, medications, or skin conditions before your visit. Safety is our top priority — failure to disclose any skin changes can cause harm to the skin. Transparency allows us to customize your treatment safely and effectively.
